Particulate filters

The exhaust system of a car is designed to perform functions such as removing exhaust gases from cylinders or working chambers into the atmosphere, cleaning exhaust gases (mechanical and chemical), reducing exhaust gas energy (kinetic, thermal, sound).
For the implementation of the listed functions, PM material is preferable to other traditionally used materials:
- has the lowest aerodynamic and hydrodynamic resistance (round wire);
- maximum surface of gas contact with PM material per unit time;
-resistant to explosive, shock and vibration loads;
- resistant to the impact of a gas jet with high kinetic energy during afterburner modes of engine operation;
- provides the best gradient of reducing the temperature of the exhaust gases due to heat removal from the gas inside the heat-capacious wire array;
- provides the best gradient of reducing the temperature of the exhaust gases due to heat removal from the gas inside the heat-capacious wire array;
- has a high sound-absorbing capacity (the sound wave is extinguished by the transfer of its energy into the microdeformation of the PM material);
- production technology allows a quick transition to the manufacture of PM materil packing of various porosity in accordance with the needs of the Customer.
Below are examples of PM products for automotive and tractor engine exhaust systems.
