Function
Filtration elements made from a permeable matrix of pressed metal wire (PM) are used in filtration systems to filter liquids, gases, and corrosive media from solids. Depending on the application, these filtration elements can have a cutoff rating of 30 to 500 µm. It is also possible to manufacture filtration elements with different cutoff ratings.
Filtration elements from PPM
Advantages
  • High resistance of filtration elements to the aggressive influences of the operating environment.
  • Excellent temperature resistance, withstanding up to +800 °C depending on the material used.
  • Superior erosion resistance, making PM filters a promising alternative to those produced by powder metallurgy or screen technology.
  • No scaling occurs in the inner channels of the filtration elements.
  • High strength and insensitivity to shock loads due to the elastic properties of PM material.
  • Excellent recovery ability of the filtration elements.
  • Low hydraulic resistance allows for a 1.5 to 2 times reduction in the active area of the filtration system compared to other filtration systems, while maintaining the same filter efficiency.
